Live PC Give PC is an annual event of giving in Park City. The community comes together and supports local nonprofit organizations. One nonprofit joining them this year is Wasatch Backcountry Rescue. Live PC Give PC happens on Friday, November 4, and is an annual day of giving to support the nonprofits that serve Park City and Summit County. This is the sixth year that Park City Community Foundation has organized Live PC Give PC. People can donate to their favorite nonprofits atlivepcgivepc.org.

Wasatch Backcountry Rescue (WBR) is a 501c3 non-profit organization working in the Wasatch Mountains east of Salt Lake City, Utah, under the direction of the five Wasatch front County Sheriff's Search and Rescue divisions (Salt Lake, Summit, Weber, Wasatch and Utah Counties). The primary purpose is rapid response for avalanche rescue, winter related mountain rescue, and medical evacuation incidents using trained professionals and search and rescue dogs. We also educate local backcountry users in safe techniques for mountain travel plus the equipment and methods used for self-rescue in case of any incident. WBR Dogs like Jagger are highly trained in air scenting, the dogs are taught from a very young age to follow their nose. A dog can pick up the human scent, recognize the direction from which it is coming, follow the scent to the strongest point and give an indication. The indication comes in the form of digging and barking, this is where the scent is the strongest and this is where as a rescuer, I begin probing and digging in the avalanche for the missing person, it truly is a team effort between dog and rescuer. To learn how to give gohere.
