Police: Suspect still on the loose in SLC stabbing

SALT LAKE CITY – Police are still looking for the suspect after a 30-year-old man was stabbed in Salt Lake City Monday morning, leaving him in critical condition.

The stabbing occurred near 800 W. Fremont Ave. near 1100 S. Monday at 11 a.m.

On Monday afternoon, police announced they had taken a suspect into custody. Later Monday afternoon, police said the suspect is a 15-year-old nephew of the victim and that he is still at large.

The suspect was last seen in the area of 821 W Freemont St. around 11:20 a.m.

He was last seen heading north from the scene wearing a black hoodie and tan shorts.

Officers said the suspect is 5’5″ with long brown hair and may be armed with a knife.
