UTAH -- While many people decorate for Halloween, some Utahns are going all out with over-the-top displays that turn mild-mannered homes into haunted houses, if only temporarily.

Fox 13 News' Kiersten Nuñez took a tour around northern Utah to scope out some of the most spooktacular displays, which you can see in the video above.

While some residents asked not to have their addresses published, others say visitors are welcome.

"The Dead Zone" is a backyard haunted house at 8016 South 3725 West in West Jordan, and it is free for folks to visit. Rondo Russel said they've been doing the haunted attraction for 13 years.

While it takes about 3 months to set it all up, he says the results speak for themselves.

"All the kids from the neighborhood come and work here; I can't get them to go trick or treating," he said.

The Bates Haunt is a light show in another Utah home, this one located at 1233 Morning Oaks Drive in Taylorsville.
