SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah Utes may have been trying to tell us something when they put up 19 points against Oregon State Saturday, as the team was No. 19 when the AP Poll for Week 8 came out on Sunday.

The Utes notched on the road win thanks in part to a strong performance from running back Joe Williams, who suited up for Utah once again after announcing he was retiring earlier this year.

Utah jumped forward two spots from last week’s No. 21 ranking in the AP Poll after the win. In the Coaches Poll, Utah moved up three spaces from No. 21 to No. 18.

The win makes Utah, 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference, bowl eligible. The Utes are tied with Colorado for the lead in the Pac-12 South.

Utah plays next on Saturday, October 22 when they travel to Pasadena to take on UCLA. That game airs right here on Fox 13 at 2 p.m. MT.
