LOGAN, Utah — A mother and her adult daughter were taken to hospitals in critical condition after a crash in Logan Wednesday night, and the mother later died at a hospital.
The deceased was identified Thursday as 43-year-old Yolanda Lopez of Logan.
The crash occurred at the intersection of 2200 North and Main Street in Logan, and Fox 13 News first heard report of the crash around 8 p.m.
Police at the scene said the driver of a pickup truck ran a red light and struck another car. Two people inside that car were taken to hospitals in critical condition.
Yolanda Lopez was pronounced dead at the hospital later Wednesday night. Her 18-year-old daughter, Lizeth Lopez of Logan, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the pickup truck, 25-year-old Dillon Hatch of Preston, Idaho, was not injured. Police say no charges have been filed in connection with the crash at this time, as the investigation is still ongoing.
