SALT LAKE CITY -- Bill Evans formerly served as one of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' point men for relations with the LGBT community, and he was recently named to the board of "Affirmation", which is an independent LGBT support group for Mormons.
Bill Evans sat down with Fox 13's Bob Evans to discuss how the sometimes-strained relationship between the two communities has evolved over the years. See the video above for Evans' interview, including his answers to the 3 Questions below:
- The LDS Church and LGBT community each hold core beliefs that are unlikely to change, what is it the two end up talking about?
- The relationship between the LDS Church and LGBT community often seems like "two steps forward, one step back", what's going on there?
- Where do you see this relationship between the LDS Church and LGBT community going in the future, 5 to 10 years from now?
