SALT LAKE CITY - Politicians know predicting a winner in a hotly-contested in-state rivalry game is not a political football.  After all, fans on both sides cast votes.

Fox 13 asked three prominent Utah leaders to make a prediction in Saturday's Utah-BYU game at Rice-Eccles stadium in Salt Lake City.  Two avoided taking sides, one didn't.

"I have divided loyalties, a lot of my family went to the University of Utah, a lot of my family went to BYU, as some people know my son-in-law is the new wide receivers coach at Brigham Young University, I hope he does well, and it's going to be a great game, I think we're going to enjoy it.I appreciate the fact that the two coaches are trying to dial the rivalry emotion back a notch, I think that would be healthy for us in the state.  It's nice to have this great rivalry, we ought to do it with respect and kindness." ~ Gary Herbert, Governor of Utah

"I am calling a win for the best team and I will be half of the time on the U side and half of the time on the BYU side.  Go Utes and Cougars, we love you both." ~ Sean Reyes, Utah Attorney General

"I get in trouble every time I dip my toe into this rivalry, but I'm a BYU guy and I'm looking at BYU, they had a good showing against Arizona , Arizona's had their way with Utah in the past, so maybe that means BYU comes in here and surprises some people with a win." ~ Rep. Greg Hughes, (R), Draper
