SALT LAKE CITY - The Eccles Theater is bringing in some big names, now it’s just a matter of being able to get a ticket.

"There’s three amazing tiers, where the furthest seat away is 120 feet from the stage, which is one of the closest in the country," said Darin Piccoli of First Tracks Entertainment. "It's the newest venue opening in the city,  in the country as far as theaters, so it’s going to be quite an experience that Salt Lake City I don't think has ever had."

The facility is a brand new, state of the art theater featuring a 2,400-seat Delta Performance Hall.

"People are so excited about the theater and when it opens, so to be able to have this variety of shows: Johnny Mathis to Goo Goo Dolls, Morrissey to Golden (Dragon) Acrobats, it’s just going to be such a great thing for the community," said Bruce Granath of Magicspace Entertainment.

From bands like “The Head and The Heart” to speakers like Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, the Eccles Theater says they'll have something for everyone. Thursday's announcement included a total of 15 performers or performing groups.

“I think that you’re going to find this to be a really wonderful breeding ground for people to take their families, for people to go out on dates, for people to let loose,” Piccoli said.

The main theater is still under construction. While workers are putting final touches on the inside, many fans are anxiously awaiting outside.

“The reaction that we've had to Broadway has been so overwhelming, it’s really become almost manic,” Granath said.

The theater has already far surpassed expectations for season ticket sales. Many are already looking for tickets for next season's biggest show: "Hamilton."

"Hmm, 'how to get tickets?' I think that's kind of the mantra for anywhere with 'Hamilton,'" Piccoli said.

And the secret on how to score those tickets?

"If you're a season ticket holder, you have the same seats every night for our package shows, which means next year you just renew your season tickets and you're in," Granath said. "Without the Eccles Theater, we’d probably be waiting 10 years to see 'Hamilton' and we’re going to be one of the first dozen or so cities to host this amazing show."

"It’s going to be a great experience, and we're going to be announcing show throughout the year, so this is just the beginning," Piccoli said.

People can join an email list to get priority tickets before they go on sale to the general public via the theater's website.
