Cellphone tower fire forces road closure in Taylorsville

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Firefighters with the Unified Fire Authority are working to extinguish a cellphone tower that caught fire Thursday afternoon.

The cellphone tower is located at 4700 S Bangerter Highway. According to the Utah Department of Transportation, officials have closed both directions of Bangerter Highway between 4100 S and 4700 S. Drivers are urged to use an alternate route.
