No injuries reported after woman abandons car on FrontRunner tracks, police say

PROVO, Utah — A FrontRunner train crashed into a vehicle after a woman abandoned her car on the tracks, authorities confirmed Saturday night.

The incident was called out at 9:54 p.m. in the area of 600 South and 700 West. According to Provo police, a woman was driving cautiously over train tracks when the guards came down.

The woman panicked and fled from her vehicle, police say. The train hit the back end of the woman’s car.

Police say the car is still drivable. There was no major damage to the train and there were no serious injuries.

The train was temporarily delayed.
