SALT LAKE CITY -- Congressman Jason Chaffetz stopped by the FOX 13 News Studio Wednesday to discuss the current political landscape, including the 2016 presidential race and the debate over a proposed Bears Ears National Monument.

Chaffetz, a Republican representing Utah's Third District, spoke with Max Roth about several topics, including his support for Donald Trump in a race against Hillary Clinton. Chaffetz said he doesn't agree with everything Trump says, or how Trump says it, but he said he believes Trump is more trustworthy than Clinton and will be better for Utah.

The Chairman of the Oversight Committee also spoke about Hillary Clinton's emails and security issues, which he said is "one of the largest breaches" they've dealt with.

When it comes to the proposed Bears Ears National Monument, Chaffetz said a monument designation would be "devastating" and would prevent people from recreating in those areas. He says he prefers a more balanced approach to protecting the land while keeping it open for various types of use.
