SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah – The Utah Department of Transportation began a big construction project near Echo Reservoir Monday, Aug. 15.
Crews will repair the interchange bridge from eastbound I-80 to westbound I-84 near Echo Reservoir. Work will include asphalt restructuring, pothole repairs, and improvements to the structure, according to UDOT.
The I-84 westbound bridge will be closed during the project. Traffic will be detoured to the Echo interchange where vehicles can access I-84 from westbound I-80. At least one lane in each direction on I-80 will be open throughout the project. (See map below)
Crews will work from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with intermittent weekend and night work. The project is scheduled to be finished by late fall 2016.
