UINTA COUNTY, Wyo. — Fire crews from multiple agencies are fighting a wildfire on an estimated 1,500 acres near the Utah-Wyoming border, and a nearby youth camp has been evacuated.

According to the Bureau of Land Management, BLM crews are working with Uinta County, Wyoming State Forestry and the Wasatch-Cache Forest Service to battle the wildfire near Meeks Cabin Reservoir.

The public is encouraged to avoid the area due to unpredictable fire activity. Highways 271 and 410 are closed in the vicinity due to fire traffic and smoky conditions. Evacuations have been ordered at the Uinta County Youth Camp.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Ground and air crews are responding.
