SALT LAKE CITY – The Pioneer Day Parade is getting underway and blocking streets downtown.
The parade starts at 9 a.m. and weaves around downtown finishing at Liberty Park where the festivities will continue into the evening with fireworks.
Officials are asking those watching the parade to follow a few rules to keep the festivities flowing.
- Do no block driveways or sidewalk ramps
- No dogs are allowed except for service animals
Roads have been closed since 5 a.m. throughout the city for the parade and other races.
