Think your family has what it takes to be on the show Survivor? Test it out with a family summer survivor camp! Jacob Schmidt and two contestants from their family survivor camp tell us about their week at camp. A year ago the kids came up with the idea of surviving in the backyard and wanted their parent to come up with challenges. They did not know the challenges ahead of time, so they would have no advantage of practicing. There is no voting anyone off, but they would have to sleep outside and build a shelter. This year the camp was down in Fountain Green with 4 of their other cousins competing. They competed in teams and other times on their own. Challenges included fire making, a food challenge, goat-milking and a Survivor auction. Everyone competes against each other and wins beads for a necklace. The one with the most beads at the end gets $20. They had a hand washing station and a cooler of water out on the perimeter of the property. An 'immunity' necklace was hidden 2 times a day that if found, could be traded in for a treat or a bead. This year the food was only plain rice, plain noodles or plain bread. I think everyone can agree that these kids are tough!
