Smoke filled the Salt Lake Valley Saturday as a fire on Antelope Island grew to more than 8,000 acres, and a pair of time lapse videos let you see the smoke grow Friday night and again Saturday morning.

The West Antelope Fire is believed to have been caused by lightning Thursday, and crews begin fighting the fire Friday evening. By Saturday it had grown to more than 8,000 acres.

The daylight video above was captured using one of FOX 13 News's mountain cameras over the course of roughly two hours beginning about 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Over time, the smoke thickens to the point where the mountains are almost completely obscured from view.
