SALT LAKE CITY — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a bank robbery.

On Monday, a man walked into a U.S. Bank inside a Smith’s grocery store, 876 E. 800 South, and demanded money from the teller, according to a press release from Salt Lake City police. It is not clear if the suspect threatened the bank employee or not.

After the robbery, the suspect left the scene on foot in an unknown direction, the release states.

Police describe the suspect as a “light skin male black adult,” about five feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing black shorts, a khaki green Salt Lake Bees shirt and a black baseball had with “iu” on the front.

Anyone who might know the identity of the suspect is asked to call 801-799-3000. Anonymous tips may be sent by text to 274637.
