LOGAN, Utah — Police responded to the scene where a man reported he wanted to commit suicide by cop and was armed with a gun.

The man was found at a bus stop waiting area on Main Street in North Logan. Police said they planned to shoot the man with less-lethal force, like beanbags, but were unable to due to the glass on the bus stop.

As police approached the man and were talking to him the man pulled out a 9mm and shot himself, authorities said.  The man who shot himself did not die and was taken to the hospital by helicopter.
