Suspect in May SLC murder found in Arizona, captured by US Marshals

SALT LAKE CITY — U.S. Marshals in Phoenix, Ariz., captured a suspect wanted in the Salt Lake City murder of Mauricio Martinez nearly two months ago, authorities confirmed Monday.

Alfredo Lolani, 25, was caught July 7. Extradition to Utah is in progress, according to a press release from Salt Lake City police.

Martinez’s body was found in a credit union parking lot in Cottonwood Heights on May 27. Authorities determined the crime was committed in Salt Lake City at 1032 South and Redwood Road.

Shortly after the incident, Mario Antonio Garcia, 25, and Jorge Arturo Castanon-Serrano, 35, were taken into custody in connection to the death.

Police sought out Jamie Clarissa George, 33, as a person of interest in the case. She was found on June 23.

Lucas Troy Neilson, 36, was also wanted in Martinez’s murder. He was also arrested on June 23. Neilson and George were caught as a result of information from the community, the release states.

All the men suspected in the case were charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery. George was not charged, police say.

Police have not released Martinez’s cause of death.
