Ogden City replaces fire station after 70 years

OGDEN, Utah — Ogden City  is opening the new Ogden City Fire Department Station #3 today.

The new station replaces the current station that was built in 1946. After 70 years, the city decided to open a modern 10,555 sq. ft. station that will be staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by seven full time professional firefighters.

The station includes a fire engine, paramedic rescue squad, ambulance, living quarters, apparatus bays, fitness facilities and a community education room.

The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new station today, July 7 at 2 p.m. An open house will follow the ceremony until 4:30 p.m. along with light refreshments.
