SALT LAKE CITY -- Police have released the name of a 16-year-old boy who was shot and killed Tuesday in the Glendale area, and Wednesday his girlfriend spoke to FOX 13 News about the death.

The deceased has been identified as Paris Gustin, who also goes by Charlie Brown or Charlie Fishermen on Facebook.

His girlfriend is 18-year-old Jeynnie Valdovinos. She said they had just spent the Fourth of July together with his family.

She described him as a funny, loving boyfriend, who was outgoing and got along with people everywhere. She said he attended Granite Connections High School and loved playing football at West High School.

She can’t understand who would do this to him.

"It's hard to lose the one that you love," Valdovinos said. "And to know that I am not going to be able to see him again. It's really hard."

She said it's been a nightmare for her and his family the past 24 hours.

"I don't know what to think," she said. "I feel like it's all a dream. It's not reality, and I'm just going to wake up and he is going to be right next to me."

Police still have not released more details on who was involved and what happened. Gustin's body was found in a vehicle in the area of 985 South and 1100 West. A separate location at 600 North and 1000 West was also under investigation, as police located shell casings from a firearm at that scene.
