WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah - Police say hundreds of people are victims of a couple recently arrested for the fourth time in six weeks for breaking into cars.

"They've stolen hundreds of people's IDs," said Lt. Dalan Taylor with West Valley City Police.  "They've committed numerous frauds with that information."

The couple, identified as Tasha King and her common-law husband Armando Lucero, was out on bail while waiting for court hearings for the previous offenses when they committed more thefts, according to authorities.

Police say the couple targeted busy parking lots at businesses, trail heads, churches and funeral homes. They say they also targeted people's mailboxes.

"We've been contacting a number of agencies where fraud has been detected," Taylor said. "We are making them aware of the issue so they can contact victims and get those things reported.”

Police say after the third arrest, they had an officer keep a close eye on King. An officer followed her on Sunday as she walked into a J.C. Penney and according to the police report, used someone else's passport as ID to purchase two golden rings.

Police say they later sold the rings at a pawn shop.

That's when police moved in and made their arrest.

This time around, police are hopeful they can keep the two locked up. They say they recovered evidence of their tampering with U.S. mail and recovered a stolen firearm.
