Dalai Lama visits Utah Tibetan Community Center and speaks to community

SALT LAKE CITY — His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet met with patients and leaders from the Huntsman Cancer Institute and University of Utah Tuesday before speaking to the Utah community at the University’s Jon M. Huntsman Center.

Emma Houston, and HCI breast cancer survivor had the opportunity to meet with the Dalai Lama. “It was my pleasure to be in the presence of His Holiness and to physically feel peace and harmony as he shared his thoughts on teaching human values and inner happiness,” Houston said in a press release sent to FOX 13.

Crowds are gathering outside of the Huntsman Center participating in traditional dance and song before the sold out speech.

The Dalai Lama is set to speak about compassion and universal responsibility followed by a Q & A session Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Huntsman Center.
