SALT LAKE CITY – The “Wags to Wishes” gala was held in Salt Lake City Saturday night, and the event raises money to help the Humane Society of Utah.

FOX 13 News’ own Damon Yauney and Kerri Cronk were there to emcee the event, which helps animals all across the state.

“We're raising money tonight so we can continue to do the good work that we're doing and trying to make a difference in the community, and finding good homes for as many animals as we can,” said Gene Baierschmidt, the executive director of the Humane Society of Utah.

HSU said they were able to save more than 11,000 dogs and cats last year, which means they achieved “No kill” status for the first time. For more information about HSU, their efforts and the ways you can help, click here.
