MANTI, Utah – This year marks the 50th anniversary of Manti’s ‘The Mormon Miracle Pageant”, and organizers say they are adding extra events to mark the occasion.

The city is celebrating a production that involves the entire community. They've scheduled concerts, cast reunions and even a costume exhibit. All events are free and are open to the public.

It’s a lot of work every year, and for some it means almost no summer vacation time, but, Manti natives say it’s just what they do.

“The title says it all: It is a miracle,” Pageant Historian Merilyn Jorgensen said. “It's a miracle that it got put on at all. It's a miracle that it keeps going every year. It's a miracle that it's performed.”

The pageant opened in 1967 to an audience of 2,000. Now it draws an average of 100,000 visitors each year.

The pageant runs through June 25. For more information about the anniversary events, click here.
