DRAPER, Utah — A woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition Wednesday afternoon after the cyclist collided with a pickup truck.
Sgt. Chad Carpenter, Draper City Police Department, said the crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Lonepeak Parkway and 12300 South.
Carpenter said a 50-year-old woman on a bicycle was on the sidewalk on the eastbound side of the street, travelling against traffic. A pickup truck went to make a left hand turn, colliding with the cyclist.
It was not clear if the cyclist was wearing a helmet. She was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Police are still investigating to determine who was at fault for the crash.
