TheAchilles Athlete team is making history this year as they run the 2016 Ragnar Relay in Utah. The Ragnar team members include 10 individuals with different levels of visual impairments, a man with an amputated foot, a woman that survived cancer, and a team member with 1 lung. There are 13 Achilles Athletes that will be participating in this year`s Ragnar Relay. Although the entire team could not come, Becky Andrews, Amanda Hovermale, Mark Turley, Ken Duke, and Andy Abram all visited the show and shared their excitement for the upcoming race.  Every member of the team has a great story and shows that they can accomplish anything with the right support system.
The Achilles Volunteers (Guides) are a vital part of the race and have the responsibility to make sure each member they are guiding gets what they need. The guides are there to help the Achilles Athletes reach their desired goals.
The mission of the Achilles organization is to enable people with disabilities to participate in mainstream athletics in order to promote personal achievement, enhance self-esteem, and lower barriers to living a fulfilling life. The Achilles athletes challenges include, but are not limited to, visual impairment, amputation, cerebral palsy, cancer, multiple sclerosis, organ transplants, paraplegia, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.
