LOGAN, Utah — Police in Logan arrested a man Tuesday after he allegedly sent sexually explicit packages to a student at Logan High School, and evidence suggests there may be additional victims.

Chief Gary Jensen of the Logan Police Department said 68-year-old Thomas Thackeray was arrested for a stalking charge Tuesday, but he said further charges are possible as the investigation continues.

The man was located and arrested afterpolice turned to social media for help identifying a suspect.Police said the suspect had sent five packages to a student at Logan High School since March 10, and the packages contained adult-oriented material and sexually explicit letters.

The packages were sent to the victim’s home address, and the suspect was located through surveillance videos captured at a post office.

Thackeray is a parolee who was released from the Utah State Prison in April of 2014. He was previously incarcerated on similar charges to those he is facing in this more recent case.

Thackeray faces one count of stalking as a third-degree felony, and he is also being held on a parole violation. Detectives investigating the case located evidence indicating there may be other potential victims and other potential crimes. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible, according to Logan PD.
