SALT LAKE CITY -- Police are looking for three men who allegedly broke down two different doors at an apartment complex in Salt Lake City Wednesday afternoon.

Salt Lake City Police say the suspects broke down a door at an apartment complex near 1700 West and 400 North around 12:30 p.m., but their first effort revealed a utility closet.

The suspects then kicked down a second door across the hallway, gaining entry to a residence. A Mother of two inside that apartment called police to report the home invasion.

“She was inside the residence with her 6 and 8-year-old sons, and of course very, very frightened of these individuals,” said Det. Cody Lougy with Salt Lake City PD. “It appears they were looking for somebody, at one point they said, ‘Oh, wrong apartment’ and left the scene.”

Thankfully, no one was hurt. Police said two of the men were Hispanic and the third was white. All of the men are believed to be in their 20s. One of the men was wearing a yellow bandanna, and two others were wearing black T-shirts. No further descriptions were available. Police are asking anyone with information on these three men to call them.
