SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A 20-year-old man is in custody and facing aggravated assault charges after a stabbing at the Liberty Park Drum Circle around 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Police say two men got into a fist fight at the park and as the suspect was falling to the ground, he pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the ribs.
Witnesses say the men got up and began chasing each other through the park. According to police, people in the area were able to grab and hold the suspect until officers arrived on scene.
The victim took a personal car to the hospital and is expected to recover.
