SUNDANCE, Utah — A 55-year-old woman is dead after participating in a Zip Tour excursion at Sundance Mountain Resort, resort officials confirmed Saturday.

The incident occurred Friday at about 5:30 p.m. The woman was on her last span of the five spans of the zip line, said Czar Johnson, director of mountain operations.

According to a press release from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, the deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Lisa Lambe of Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The release states Lambe “sustained serious internal injuries while riding the Zipline. Exactly how she sustained those injuries is still not completely clear.”

The woman was found suspended from a harness, and she was brought to the ground to be treated. She was unconscious and not breathing when found, and she was later pronounced dead at a hospital in Provo.

Sundance Mountain Resort issued this statement earlier in the day:

“While participating in the Zip Tour excursion, a female guest lost consciousness and died shortly thereafter. It is Sundance Mountain Resort’s policy to respect the privacy of our guests, employees and their families during this most difficult time, Sundance Mountain Resort cannot provide any personal or confidential information.
