DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — A cat found with an arrow stuck in its neck more than two weeks ago was caught by animal control and treated over the weekend.

Animal control officers were first alerted to the injured domestic tabby on April 27. When they responded to the scene in Sunset, they found the animal had an arrow stuck in its neck.

Attempts to catch the feline over the next several weeks were unsuccessful.

“The arrow was sticking out in a way the cat was not able to go inside a live humane trap,” Clint Thacker, director of the Davis County Animal Care & Control, stated in a press release. “The arrow finally fell out as the cat attempted to run under a shed.”

At that point, an animal control officer set up several live cat traps.

On May 15, the animal was caught and rushed to Fairfield Veterinary Hospital for treatment, the release states.

The cat is currently at the Davis County Animal Shelter and is expected to make a full recovery.

Davis County Animal Care & Control is looking for a suspect. The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest or conviction of the suspect.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Davis County Animal Shelter at 801-444-2200 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
