DRAPER, Utah — Crews will begin working on a new interchange on Bangerter Highway near I-15 at 600 West in Draper Monday.

“We’re putting in a new freeway-style interchange similar to the one that we completed on Redwood Road and Bangerter last year,” said John Gleason, a Utah Department of Transportation Spokesman. “This is really going to help the congestion in that area.”

There will be lane restrictions seven days a week, 24 hours a day—except during the heaviest commuting hours.

For Monday through Friday, all eastbound lanes will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., and all westbound lanes will be open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

All lanes in both directions will be open on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.

Outside of those designated times, Bangerter Highway will be reduced to two lanes in each direction during the day and one lane in each direction at night.

The project is expected to be completed sometime in early 2017. For the latest on road construction projects and traffic conditions, visit UDOT’s website.
