LINDON, Utah — Police in Utah County were looking for a man who allegedly exposed himself to several children at a store, and authorities said within hours of posting his picture on social media a tipster identified the suspect.

Orem Police Department posted surveillance photos of the man, who allegedly approached small children with some sort of electronic device covering his groin–which he would remove to expose himself to the victims.

Police said the incidents occurred April 27 in the children’s section of the Wal-Mart in Lindon. A least two victims have come forward, but police believe there may be more victims out there. The suspect did not make physical contact with any of the victims.

According to a Facebook post from Orem PD, about two hours after the original posts were made, a tipster called to identify the suspect. Police said they believe the man may be out of state now, and they said they would not be releasing his name until the man is taken into custody.

The posted stated: “UPDATE: You all sure didn’t disappoint…….2 hours after this was posted a call came in identifying the suspect. I knew you’d all find him. OPD, LPD and our victims fames thank you!”

Anyone who recognizes the man or who believes they or someone they know was a victim should call Lindon PD at 801-769-8600 or dispatch at 801-229-7070.
