Man facing automobile homicide charge after alleged DUI crash in southern Utah

HURRICANE, Utah — Police identified a man killed in a motorcycle crash in Hurricane Friday afternoon as Charles S. Vick.

According to a press release from the Hurricane City Police Department, a car and motorcycle collided in the intersection of 870 West and 325 North around 3:14 p.m.

Officers who responded to the scene found an unresponsive male, later identified as 64-year-old Vick, and provided medical attention. The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police stated later in the day that the driver of the car, 51-year-old Robert J. Lounsbury of Hurricane, has been charged with automobile homicide and is believed to have been DUI. He was also charged with failure to yield a left turn and for violating an alcohol restricted driver’s license.
