LAYTON, Utah — Two people were taken to a hospital with serious injuries after a motorcycle crash in Layton, and officers said they suspect alcohol is a factor in the crash.

According to the Layton Police Department, the crash occurred at Antelope Drive and Hobbs Creek Drive, shutting down traffic in that area. Police first tweeted about the crash just after 8 p.m.

Two occupants were taken to a  hospital with serious injuries. Police said they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, and they tweeted a photo that appeared to show a bag of beer cans alongside the motorcycle.

Police said a man and woman were on the motorcycle, and the operator lost control as they approached a roundabout. A female passenger was ejected while the man operating the bike ended up beneath the motorcycle. Bystanders moved the vehicle off the man, and both occupants were rushed to a nearby hospital.
