Uniquely Utah: Humans of Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY -- Most of us cross paths with dozens of strangers each day, seldom giving thought to who they are, where they came from, or where they will lay their heads at night.

But Mike Angelieri is on a one-man mission to change the way we think about one another.

Inspired by the popular website Humans of New York, he started a Facebook Page a few years ago titled Humans Of Salt Lake City.

The page now has around a thousand posts, which consist of photographs and stories of the people Angelieri meets on city sidewalks, or in popular human hangouts like Liberty Park.

Around 20,000 Facebook friends follow the page and some of them - inspired by a post about a homeless man with no shoes - recently created a fund enabling Angelieri to provide emergency assistance to those he runs into on the streets.
