Woman taken to hospital after nearby lightning strike in South Jordan

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — Emergency responders were dispatched in South Jordan Friday afternoon after a report a person was struck by lightning, but crews arrived to find the woman had not actually been hit.

The woman wasn’t hurt, but she was shaken by the incident and was transported to a hospital as a precaution.

The incident occurred in the area of 10060 South and 4165 West, and FOX 13 News first heard report of the incident just after 3 p.m. Dispatch officials initially stated the woman had been struck by lightning.

FOX 13 News has reached out to authorities for more information and has a crew on the way to the scene. This story will be updated as more details emerge.
