UTAH COUNTY -- A Lake Shore family is in mourning after a 33-year-old man was shot and killed by a Utah County Sheriff's deputy over the weekend.
Des Bess doesn't deny that his son, Mark Daniel Bess, had problems. He'd been arrested 22 times in Utah County alone.
But, Des Bess said reports that his son threatened a deputy with a knife is surprising because his son wasn't violent.
