PROVO, Utah -- Two big name bands came to Utah Friday night to help out the owner of a Provo music venue.

Neon Trees and Imagine Dragons performed a benefit concert at Velour, and huge crowds turned out to support Corey Fox, who needs a kidney transplant.

Kaneischa Johnson, Marketing Manager of Velour, said Fox is waiting for a live donor. Velour plans to close for a few months while he recovers, she said.

The cost of the transplant, mixed with temporarily shutting the music venue down, created a tough situation for Fox and Velour. That's why Imagine Dragons and Neon Trees have jumped in to help.

"They decided they wanted to do as much as they could to help contribute to the financial needs that we'll have as Corey goes through that process, and to help support Velour and make sure Velour survives that process," Johnson said.

She said both bands got their start at Velour, and it's been overwhelming to see them, as well as many other businesses and people in the community, support Fox.

Johnson said they don't have a closing date for Velour, but they expect to close for a few months in the summer. It'll all depend on when Fox can receive the transplant.

After Friday's concert, another benefit concert for Fox and Velour will take place on Saturday evening at Velour.
