Not only is indoor football returning to the Maverik Center beginning in 2017, it is returning under a unique concept never tried before in any sport anywhere.

The fans will get to vote on every aspect of the team, and a vote already resulted in bringing the team to Utah.

Salt Lake City beat out Oklahoma City in an online vote, and now the team's new innovative ownership group will continue to let the fans be involved in every aspect of the team going forward. Some fans will even be allowed to call plays in real-time during a game.

The team that has yet to be named is an expansion of the Indoor Football League, becoming the eleventh team in the league.
