SPANISH FORK, Utah - US 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon after a semi truck went up in flames, closing the roadway in both directions Thursday morning.

The Utah Highway Patrol said the fire started at about 4 a.m. in the trailer carrying paper products.

Officials are investigating what sparked the blaze and said it could have been an issue with the brakes.

The driver pulled over and was able to unhook the trailer from the tractor and moved it a safe distance from the flames.

The fire brought power lines down on the road which is the main reason US 6 was closed.

Once the trailer is moved, Rocky Mountain Power will repair the lines.

No one was seriously injured.
