The past week has been a busy but good one, with a trip to California and Disneyland. It was nice to get away from the rat race not have to worry about deadlines or interviews and just really focus on spending quality time with my family.
We were able to do something that we love to do: head to the pool to soak up some rays and chill out near the water. With the big family it’s always tough to plan vacations, especially to theme parks, but I was lucky to be able to save some money through Parksavers.com. They had a great deal on there for tickets, so we were able to go to Disneyland and California Adventure.
It’s been said that Disneyland is a magical place, and it was for my son Kingslee and his then-girlfriend-now-fiancée Brittney because Kings popped the question. Damn, grandpa is not even in my vocabulary for a self description!
And, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. My happiness was soon replaced by sorrow because my phone fell out of my hoodie pocket while riding the Thunder Mountain Railroad. When Disneyland called, they told me the phone was being held together with tape. You can see the damage in the gallery above.
I was without my phone for a week, and it was very good at times not having to answer every text or email and call but instead be allowed to just BE. I got a new phone and am back at it again, though.
My poor wife is going through a lot, having one of two total knee replacement surgeries. She is roughing her way through the pain, and I am doing my best to keep her spirits happy. I am going through some sleepless nights and am not noticing a drop off in my energy level or my activity level. I believe it is directly related to my weight loss.
