It seems like a shot out of “Happy Gilmore”, but this incredible moment actually occurred back in 2009 as Vijay Singh was on the 16th hole on a warmup run for the Masters Tournament.
The video gained renewed viral vigor when it was posted on Facebook earlier this week in conjunction with the 2016 Masters Tournament. According to PGA.com, Singh was participating in a time-honored tradition where golfers attempt to skip the ball across the water on the 16th hole.
The video shows the ball crossing the water skipping-stone-style before landing on the green and ultimately falling in for the jaw-dropping finale.
A previous version of this story cited other media outlets and reported the shot occurred in 2016 rather than in 2009.
