WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah -- A local call center is rallying behind a co-worker who was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash on Wednesday night.

Kory Hansen, 38, was crossing the intersection of Redwood Road and 2500 South around 10 p.m. when he was hit by an oncoming car. Witnesses say the man behind the wheel was speeding, driving recklessly and eating pizza.

The car was captured on a gas station surveillance cameras, and police are looking for a Hispanic man driving a dark sedan, 2013 or newer, with a paper license plate.

Hansen works at a call center for CreditRepair.com, just a few minutes away from where the crash took place.

"It's hard to hold back the tears because he's the type of guy who would do anything for you," coworker Brandon Roberts said.

It was anything but business as usual at their offices on Thursday. Everyone was too busy thinking about their friend.

"Kory is always very fun, he's very spontaneous, he's always given all of our fellow coworkers high fives, he is a ball of sunshine is what you could call him," said coworker Jon Derr. "I've never seen a call center have as much emotion about one person as we have with Kory today. Definitely there is somebody that's missed on the call floor today."

Within hours of the accident, these co-workers put together a GoFundMe account. They say Kory is the one guy in the office that can't be replaced, and they want him back.

"Hang in there buddy, because you got a lot of fight and you can make it," Derr said.

If anyone has any information on this case, they are being asked to call West Valley City Police.
