TAYLORSVILLE, Utah -- Unified police is looking for two suspects in a stabbing that left a woman in critical condition Monday Eliesa Oliveafternoon.

Eliesa Tupo Olive, 32, and Jeffrey Hanson, 34, are wanted in the assault of the 19-year-old woman in Taylorsville.

Authorities were alerted to the incident at about 3 p.m., when the woman knocked on the door of a home in the area of the 4300 South block of 1200 West looking for help when she collapsed.

Salt Lake County Sheriff Jim Winder said she had been stabbed multiple times  and there was evidence she had been bound.

Police say the stabbing took place inside a home in the same area where the suspects allegedly bound the victim against her will before she escaped to a neighbor's house.

"We're happy to announce that her condition is improving and we've had significant time to determine the specific facts of that case," Winder said.

Neighbors in the area were shaken by the incident.

"Very nerve racking, very unsettling, especially when it's one house over," said neighbor Dixie Thompson.

On Monday, officers surrounded the suspect's home for five hours before determining no one was inside.

"I think it puts a lot of neighbor's at risk not just in the neighborhood but just in the city itself it's a pretty dangerous thing," said neighbor Kristofer Reed. "We live in a good neighborhood, and somebody across the street ended up stabbing somebody, that's really scary."

Winder said Hanson and the victim lived in the house together. He is not sure of their relationship, but he did say UPD had been called to the house several times in the past.

"The primary issues associated with the home are domestic related and also narcotics related," Winder said.

Neighbors agreed that the house and its residents have always been suspicious.

"In and out, day and night, different vehicles all the time," said neighbor Elizabeth Wood.

Winder believes the suspects may still be in Salt Lake County, driving Hanson's gray Dodge Durango with Utah license plates E787U.

The victim's family released this statement:

"The police don't want us saying anything about the victim but I can say that she is alive and that we desperately want this guy either caught or to have some decency to turn himself in. Or if anybody knows anything to talk to the cops."

Olive is described as Polynesian and Hanson is described as a white man. Both are believed to be dangerous.
