SALT LAKE CITY — A sister missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was killed after a car she was traveling in collided with a bus in Monroe Township, Penn., Tuesday afternoon.

Sadie D. Wells of Kaysville was pronounced dead on the scene, Penn Live reports.

Penn Live reports the bus, carrying 32 Cumberland Valley School District students, was headed south when it ran a stop sign and crashed into a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze.  Both vehicles ended up in a field just southwest of the intersection.

Wells was sitting in the front passenger seat.

Wells was serving in the Pennsylvania Pittsburg Mission since May 2015.

“Three other sister missionaries were also in the vehicle and are currently receiving medical care for non-life-threatening injuries,” according to Kristen Howey, spokeswoman for the LDS Church.

“We pray for the injured sisters and for the families of all four sisters at this difficult time. We extend our sincerest sympathies to the Wells family for the loss of their daughter, and to other loved ones, friends, and fellow missionaries who were blessed by her friendship and example,” Howey said.
