One dead, one flown to trauma center after car hits cow in Millard County

MILLARD COUNTY, Utah — A man was killed and a woman was taken to a trauma center after a crash involving a vehicle and a cow on SR-257 late Thursday night.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a southbound Subaru Forester struck a cow in the roadway near milepost 38 on SR-257 around 11:45 p.m. Thursday.

Oscar Estrada, 37 of Milford, was not wearing a seat belt, and he suffered fatal injuries to the head and chest after striking the steering wheel and windshield.

An adult female was taken to Delta hospital, and from there she was flown to a trauma center in northern Utah. Her exact condition is unknown.

A 6-year-old girl who was lying down in the backseat was also unrestrained, but she was not injured in the crash.

Authorities did not state the condition of the cow.
