UTAH -- The University of Utah, Utah State University, Weber State University and Brigham Young University all released details regarding their signing classes for the 2016 season Wednesday.

University of Utah

Utah signed 24 recruits on signing day, and they awarded 18 scholarships to high school prospects while six players were taken from junior colleges.

“We feel we were able to put together an outstanding recruiting class,” stated Utah coach Kyle Whittingham. “While quarterback and linebacker were our primary focus, we addressed our needs across the board. Our assistant coaches did an outstanding job targeting the right guys and we were able to win many head-to-head battles for some highly sought after recruits.”

The recruits for Utah represent seven states, with California at seven and Utah at six being the states offering the most recruits.

The list is headlined by a Lehi product and Snow College transfer, Garett Bolles, who is ranked as the top junior college prospect by many publications. The left tackle will anchor Utah's offensive line for the next two seasons.

BYU announced they had signed 25 new players, with 23 high school prospects and two junior college transfers. They also welcomed back six scholarship players who are returning from missionary service with the LDS Church.

“We are excited to announce our 2016 recruiting class,” Sitake said. “We got better across the board, adding speed, size and length. We can’t wait to get this new group here and get to work."

According to a press release, the Cougars signed 14 defensive players, 10 offensive players and one specialist. The signees include 12 athletes from Utah.

The Aggies announced they have signed 20 players as of Wednesday, consisting of 16 high school prospects and four junior college athletes who will be transferring. Of those 20, three are mid-year transfers already enrolled, five are early enrollees out of high school and three are players who will serve 2-year missions for the LDS Church before enrolling at USU.

Utah contributed the most signees to USU at seven, with California coming in second with five.

"We are really excited about this signing class and the young men who will represent Utah State University both on and off the football field," Head Coach Matt Wells stated. "What impresses me the most when I look at this group as a whole is the overall length and athleticism we were able to sign."

The press release states the Aggies focused most on linebackers, wide receivers and the offensive line--as four players were signed at each position. See the embedded press release below from USU regarding their signing class for 2016:

Weber State University

The Wildcats announced Wednesday they had signed 31 players, 21 of whom are from Utah. The signees included 18 offensive players, 12 on defense and one on special teams.

Ten of those players were previously signed by WSU and are returning to the school after serving LDS Church missions. Seventeen of the players are high school prospects and the remaining four are junior college transfers.

“Overall we feel this is another really good class for us,” Weber State Head Coach Jay Hill said. “It is a good mix of both sides of the ball and we added to spots to help fill our needs. Both the defensive and offensive lines were areas of emphasis for us and we’re excited about that group. Once again we have about two thirds of our class from the state of Utah which is part of our recruiting model. We feel it is a very good class that will help us in the future.”
