Summit County dispatch received a call at 9 p.m. Sunday that Jones had not returned home from skiing.

Jones set out for a day trip Sunday morning to the Park City ski area via Canyons Village, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities found Jones’ vehicle in the cabriolet parking and nothing suspicious was found with the car.

Several members of the Summit County Search and Rescue team along with the Canyons ski patrol are working together to find Jones. They have searched on property and backcountry areas.

Jones is in extremely good physical condition and is familiar with the terrain. Authorities say he is an experienced skier.

Jones left wearing appropriate ski clothing and had provisions with him, officials say. Jones does have a beacon but it is unknown if he had it at the time.
